Start your day with porridge
Have a hearty big breakfast which will keep you fuller for longer and help to stop your mid morning snack cravings. Porridge is perfect for winter season. Delicious way to start on a cold morning is a warm bowl of porridge. To make it healthier, don’t add any extra sugar, just opt for a bit raisins or dried nuts and fruits. Oats contains lots of vitamins and minerals.
Chicken soup for runners?
Researchers have found that runners who ate chicken noodle soup before a run in hot weather had better hydration and electrolyte levels after the run than the runners who drank only water. The scientists believe this was because the salt content of the soup caused the runners to consume more water during the run.
Choose the right one: heavy for their size, free of bruises and brown spots.
Can be stored for weeks in a refrigerator.
Great with salads, good with poultry.
Have a healthy year
Opt for fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, fish, eggs, legumes, and lean meats.
Reduce your intake of mucus-forming foods such as dairy and refined foods.
Avoid foods low in nutrients such as sugar, white flour products, and alcohol.
Drink at least 2 liters of water every day.
Drink some delicious herbal teas: homemade lemon ginger and peppermint are great.
Take time to rest and relax and get a good night’s sleep.
